#Artistry50: a special journey of beauty

ARTISTRY Master Skin Health Educator, Michelle D’Allaird, reminisces about her personal experience of her favourite brand.

The older I get the faster time goes. I find myself every day wondering where the days, weeks, months and years have gone – but rather than ponder the rapid passing of time, I prefer to look back and relish all of the events that have brought me to where I am in life … this makes me smile.

As ARTISTRY enters its 50 years of existence, it’s the ideal time to do the same, to relish 50 years of growth, innovation, success and true beauty. I could easily write about the brand, its success and uniqueness; but most of you already know all of that. Instead, I want to share with you what 50 years of beauty means from the eyes of a skincare professional with 30 years’ experience.


Innovative skincare

I started in the beauty business in 1988, and fell in love with health, wellness and skincare. I thrived on what was new, what was cutting edge, precisely how ingredients worked, how products were formulated and the effect that they had on the skin. By the early 1990s, my passion began to shift towards education. I prided myself on knowledge, not a product brand. I believed that if you truly knew how the skin worked, and you truly understood product ingredients, that each individual could then choose which product line was best for them, their clients and their business.

In 2007 all of that changed. An out-of-the-blue phone call and an opportunity to educate around the world changed my life and my beliefs. Two days in Ada, Michigan with the ARTISTRY Research and Development team opened my eyes to a world I had never seen before. A world of top researchers and scientists; cutting-edge technology and innovation; rare, superior ingredients; and a range of skincare products to change the face of every woman (and man) around the globe.

Founders’ vision

I could not believe that every person in the world didn’t know the ARTISTRY brand. I was hooked. I was committed – but it didn’t stop there. My 30 years of teaching, training, writing and speaking have been magnified by the fact that I have had the last ten years to represent the finest skincare brand on the face of this earth. A brand that was founded on the love for beauty and healthy well-being, that has never once lost sight of its founders’ vision … that “each woman is an individual like no other, a self-made work of art” … so, too, is the ARTISTRY brand.

Edith Rehnborg Cosmetics gave the original inspiration for the ARTISTRY brand in the 1950s – using natural ingredients and cutting-edge formulas.

Our favourite cosmetics brand used to bear a butterfly logo and a flamboyant font – quite a contrast to the current sleek, modern logo!
